Jennifer Latchman-Atkins has worked at KUED since 1998 and currently holds the position of Production Supervisor.
Jennifer grew up in the UK, and as a young girl in the industrial city of Birmingham, her dreams of being a part of the global medium of television seemed very far reaching. However, hard work and a passion for the industry paid off and after graduating with Distinction from her BTEC National Diploma in Media Communications, she carved out a successful career.
Early on Jenny moved to London to work for BBC Radio, but eventually followed her heart to television, where she garnered broad experience from working on a variety of primetime light entertainment shows and documentaries for several Independent Production Companies. She also managed the Music Department for British Sky Broadcasting and ran a department solely set up to coordinate remote microwave broadcasts for L!ve TV.
Jennifer first came to Salt Lake in 1995 and joined KUED’s staff in May 1998. As KUED’s Production Supervisor she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of scheduling for the Production Department’s facility and technical personnel. She provides oversight of department project timelines and development as they impact and influence the scheduling of available resources. Jennifer also acts as a department liaison for outside entities wanting to use KUED’s facilities. She enjoys producing content for some of our local productions, as well as, satellite feeds for many national and international news networks from our facility.
After vowing to her family that she would undertake her “American Experience” for only five years, Jennifer has now made Utah her home. She has fallen in love with the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the spirit of the Utah community. Jennifer resides in Salt Lake with her husband Chris, who is also a British native, and their two lovely, but slightly cheeky daughters, Maya and Yasmine.
