Janette Schimpf works for KUED in the Development department, as the Foundation and Grants Officer. She is responsible for securing funding through grant support for KUED’s local productions, community outreach initiatives, and programming. Building and nurturing strong relationships with Foundation donors, she also serves as a liaison between the Production department and the Development department.
Janette has been with KUED for the past two years. Before KUED she worked as a Development Director for Neighborhood House in Salt Lake, a Development Director for SPLORE and a Social Services Worker for DDI Vantage, AID to Adoption of Special Kids, and in DCFS.
A past board member of the Gregg Schaub Donor Foundation, Janette also volunteers with the National Marrow Donor Program, and is a PTA member and volunteer at her local elementary school.
She received a B.S in Psychology from the University of Utah and is licensed as a Social Services Worker.
Janette’s primary passion and interest is in raising her family. She enjoys being a mother and has a wonderful husband and two adorable girls who are full of life and keep her busy. Whenever she has a moment to herself, she enjoys reading. Her family’s favorite PBS programs are The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That, Super Why!, and Word World.
