In addition to underwriting programs, American Express also provides volunteers to support KUED fund drives. “We want to be good corporate citizens in the community in which we live and work,” says Allnatt of the company that provides 20,000 hours a year of community service in Utah. “It’s important for us to show that we’re committed to the community,” he adds.

American Express provides community support and addresses community needs by enhancing economic independence, preserving cultural heritage and conducting community service.

The corporation’s innovative Culture Card Program gives a series of grants to cultural institutions. The performing and fine arts groups, in turn, give American Express employees discounts on cultural events in Utah. “Therefore, we are able to provide a valuable employee benefit, while simultaneously helping arts groups with marketing and new audience development,” Allnatt explains.
