Online: See our website!

For nearly two decades, the Lawrence T. Dee - Janet T. Dee Foundation has been a loyal supporter of KUED's local production and community outreach efforts. Over the years, the Foundation has provided funding for numerous documentary programs, including Healthcare: Facing Barriers, Maynard Dixon: Thunderbird in the West, Secrets of the Lost Canyon, Utah in the ‘50s: Ogden, and Walking in Two Worlds. It has also provided support for KUED's Diverse Voices and Health Matters community outreach initiatives, providing valuable information, resources and services for thousands of Utahns.

The Foundation was established in 1971 by Lawrence Taylor and Janet Teller Dee. In addition to his long business career with the Utah Canning Company, Lawrence (Laurie) served the Ogden community through involvement in many community and service organizations, and on local boards. Janet was also active in Ogden's development, contributing her considerable energy and enthusiasm to local community services.

As a couple, they spent their lives contributing to the growth and economic prosperity of Ogden. Together, they had an appreciation for education and the arts, and supported learning excellence at all levels. Foremost, they were tireless in their efforts to provide quality health care in the Ogden community. As a young man, Laurie joined his six sisters and mother to found the Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital, which later became McKay-Dee Hospital. He served over 50 years as a trustee.

Today, the Foundation focuses on education, the arts, health care, community and social services, and the environment. Now in its 36th year, it remains a family foundation dedicated to furthering the growth and well-being of the people of northern Utah.
