In conjunction with the PBS series Becoming American, KUED Channel 7 presents Utah: The Chinese Experience. Part of KUED's Diverse Voices campaign, this web site aims to illuminate the history and experiences of Utah's Chinese Americans. Here you'll find many resources, including local history, a comprehensive community directory, photos, transcripts of local TV interview and panel discussion, and more.

In the 1840s, they came by boat, a frightening journey across the Pacific. Today, they travel by plane, only hours away from a new life. For more than 150 years, the Chinese-like other immigrants to this country-have pursued the American dream. Their journey is a compelling tale of struggle and triumph, progress and setback, and discrimination and achievement.
