Girl Scouts will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2012. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary skill-building and self-esteem programs, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships girls grow to be courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.

Girl Scouts become women of character. History backs up this statement:

-        Two thirds of the women who are today’s leaders in government, business, education, medicine, and science were once Girl Scouts.

-        Virtually every female astronaut who has flown in space was a Girl Scout.

-        Girl Scouts introduces more girls to inspiring role models in scientific fields than any other organization.

-        Nationally, activities related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) now account for over 50% of all Girl Scout awards.

Girl Scout troops are being formed all over Utah.  Join the fun of Girl Scouts and develop courage, confidence, and character to become a leader of tomorrow! Girls can fit Girl Scouts into their busy schedules by being a Juliette Girl Scout (designing your own program tailored to your interests and working at your own pace), joining/forming an existing troop, or by participating in events of your choice throughout the year.  All girls, grades 7-12 are welcome and wanted at Girl Scouts.

Girl Scout Cookies! Every cookie has a mission.  The Cookie Program is an American tradition and the nation’s premier entrepreneurship program for girls and young women.  The Girl Scout Cookie Program helps girls develop a wide range of skills, including goal setting, money management, teamwork and product marketing.  Girl Scout Cookies can send a girl to summer camp or traveling abroad! She can pay her own way with cookie credits.  All proceeds generated from Girl Scouts of Utah’s Cookie Program support programs for Utah girls.

Whatever your interest – whether you want to be a mentor in a girl’s life, or you have a daughter who wants to participate in a unique experience, Girl Scouts of Utah is the place. Girl Scouts focuses on what girls need to thrive in a rapidly changing world – from financial literacy to environmental awareness, from leadership to healthy living, from outdoor skills to hard sciences. Girl Scouts changes our community and our world by supporting the young women who will change it – who are already changing it.
