How to Recycle Your Old TV

Television sets contain hazardous materials -- anywhere from 10 - 20 pounds of lead depending on the TV set and size. So that these toxic materials don't end up in the landfill, KUED recommends responsible recycling.

Guaranteed Recycling Xperts (GRX) is contracted with the state of Utah to handle all of its electronic recycling because of GRX's guarantee to properly dispose of hazardous electronic components. The University of Utah, to whom KUED is licensed, is included in this contract. You can drop off your set(s) and tour the company or you can call for pick-up. The fee is based on the size of the TV.
