Beginning Thursday, Nov. 1, Utah Food Bank Services is on a mission to collect 1.5 million pounds of food and 24,000 turkeys for distribution to its agencies and pantries across the state. This food will not only help meet the need during the holiday season, but will also help stock Utah Food Bank Services shelves throughout the harsh winter months.
The Holiday Food Drive will run through December 24 as Utah Food Bank Services and its partners encourage public food and cash donations to assist in fulfilling emergency food requests through the winter months and beyond. To assist in food collection, Utah Food Bank Services’ annual Holiday Food Bag will be delivered in newspapers statewide Nov. 6-9 and Dec. 6-7. However, donations can be made in any bag, box or container at the following drop-off locations: Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, Smith’s Food & Drug, Jiffy Lube, Riverton Motors and Wells Fargo Bank.
