The half-hour special SALUD SIN BARRERAS/HEALTH WITHOUT BARRIERS focuses on the critical healthcare disparity facing the Hispanic community. Hosted by Emmy-winning anchor John Quiñones, the documentary shines a light on the day-to-day struggles of Latinos trying to navigate the healthcare system where language barriers, cultural misunderstandings and the lack of health insurance leave many feeling helpless. In addition to personal stories, SALUD SIN BARRERAS includes interviews with medical experts, national leaders and celebrities who stress the importance of preventive care, committing to personal llifestyle changes and taking an active role in family health care. Cooking expert and public television host Daisy Martinez (Daisy Cooks!) encourages Latinos to change their eating habits. Laura Posada, the wife of Yankees catcher Jorge Posada, shares the lessons she learned while navigating the healthcare system during her son's health crisis.
