KUED Announces Hot Utah NOW Topics Airing in August

This Week's Utah NOW: "An Interview with Ralph Nader"

This week's edition of Utah NOW represents a joint field production with KUER's RadioWest, in partnership with the Salt Lake Film Center. It was originally filmed as a live public event on July 31 at The Salt Lake Public Library. Due to technical difficulties in editing, the Ralph Nader interview did not air as originally planned on KUED Aug. 1st, 2008. Tune in on Aug. 8, at 8:30 p.m., to watch the finished television program, which will repeat on Sunday, August 10, at 11:30 a.m.

Throughout his career, Ralph Nader, the controversial candidate and consumer advocate, has tormented corporate America and the country's political establishment. But like him or not, there is no denying his influence on American public life.

Next Week's Utah NOW: "Massacre at Mountain Meadows"

Next week on Utah NOW on Friday, August 15, at 8:30 p.m., KUED will broadcast a discussion with historians Richard Turley, Glen Leonard and Ronald Walker, regarding their new research and conclusions presented in their book "Massacre at Mountain Meadows." Since the 1857 slaughter of more than 120 men, women and children at Mountain Meadows, Utah, questions about why a group of Mormon settlers killed an unarmed emigrant party and the influence of Brigham Young have swirled around the incident. Documents recently released by the LDS Church shed new light on what led to the bloodshed. The program repeats Sunday, August 17, at 11:30 a.m.
