Who knew that learning how to be healthy was so much fun! Meet Curious George and The Man with the Yellow Hat, explore health, safety and going-green displays at the UNI Kids' Health and Safety Fair Saturday, September 6.

The free outdoor event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the grounds of the University Neuropsychiatric Institute (UNI) in Research Park, 501 Chipeta Way in Salt Lake City. Event sponsors will be on hand at various booths to provide activities and give-aways for children participating in the health and safety fair. Exhibitors include University Hospitals and Clinics, UNI, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, KUED-Channel 7, March of Dimes, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Reptile Rescue, Global Art Ways, and more.

Children's activities will be plentiful, including a bike rodeo, reptile rescue, face painting, art activities, hula hoop contests and pictures taken with Curious George and The Man with the Yellow Hat. Attendees will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a Wii, which will be awarded to one lucky winner during the day. Winner must be present to win.

On-site personalities will include Faux Paw (Internet Safety Mascot), Ron Gardiner and Sundance and The University of Utah men's basketball team. Performing for the event will be the Tongan Youth Band, folk singer Mark Krantz, storyteller Robert Eckman, magician Tom Loveridge, as well as belly dancers.

Major funding for the UNI Kids Fair is provided by UNI and Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Utah and media partner KUED-Channel 7. Community sponsors and partners include Volunteers of America, Dan's Foods, Sara Lee Bakery Group, Creamies and Great Harvest Bread Company.
