Balloon Fiesta, airing on KUED Tuesday, July 13 at 8:00 p.m., provides an up-close and personal view of one of the most colorful events in the world, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Professional hot air ballooners come from all over the world to show off their custom designed, and often complex, balloons.

The international event is captured by a team of filmmakers equipped with high-definition cameras. From the dawn till night the mass ascensions of hundreds of balloons is captured. Interviewed are spectators from the crowd of thousands along with ballooning professionals and their apprentices.

Against the backdrop of Albuquerque's beautiful Sandia Mountains and Rio Grande, the Fiesta comes alive as event-goers gather to watch pilot competitions, special-shape hot-air balloons--including the gigantic head of Darth Vader--evening "balloon glowdeos" and morning dawn patrols.
