America’s top gumshoes are back for a fifth season to prove once again that an object found in an attic or backyard might be anything but ordinary. History Detectives returns to KUED-Channel 7 Mondays at 8 p.m., beginning June 25. Independent appraiser and auctioneer Wesley Cowan, Gwendolyn Wright, professor of architecture at Columbia University, independent appraiser and art historian Elyse Luray, and sociologist Tukufu Zuberi from the University of Pennsylvania, leave no stone unturned, as they travel around the country to explore the stories behind local folklore, prominent figures and family legends. The inquisitive quartet of sleuths investigate new mysteries, including a rare six-dollar bill and an examination of an unassuming pin that, according to family lore, is made of metal drawn from the Liberty Bell.
