Reflecting back on his 18 years as U.S. Senator, Bob Bennett says that some of the most important things he did for his constituents never made headlines. The business of the Senate, he explains, gets done quietly when you build relationships and build consensus. Bennett has returned to Utah and is joining the Hinckley Institute of Politics as a resident scholar.
In early February, the former senator sat down with KUER’s Doug Fabrizio, host of Radio West, at the Hinckley Institute of Politics for a conversation about his time in office and about his views on Washington politics today.
The complete interview airs on KUED Channel 7 Sunday, Feb. 27 at midnight on KUED 7-1 and repeats on Channel 7.2 Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m. The hour-long program preempts previously scheduled programming on both channels.
In addition to the broadcast on KUED, Hinckley Forums are available for on-line viewing and podcasting at www.kued.org/hinckley. The programs are also available through Comcast Cable's Video on Demand service.
KUED's ongoing presentation of Hinckley Forums are made possible by a grant from Sam Rich to the Hinckley Institute of Politics' Sam Rich Program in International Politics.
