Stein Eriksen: A Ski Legend

Released: December 11th, 2002
Available in: DVD

Stein Eriksen changed the face of alpine skiing in the U.S., transforming a family tradition into a successful career. It could be said that Eriksen was born to ski. He challenged himself to master the art of alpine skiing and racing and won gold and silver medals in the 1952 Olympics and two gold medals in the 1954 World Ski Championships. He became not only a hero to the Norwegian people, but gained international recognition - especially in the United States.

Because of his flawless style, good looks and charm, he became a favorite with the Hollywood elite, rubbing elbows with the likes of Gary Cooper. It was a world that suited him well and one that attracted him to the United States where ski resorts such as Heavenly Valley, Aspen and Sugarbush recruited his talents. His style of skiing became legendary and his persona larger than life. Eriksen has parlayed all that he knows and loves about skiing into an incredible career that still continues today.
