Nature Science Education

NATURE is television’s longest-running and most acclaimed natural sciences series. Broadcast for more than 25 years on PBS, it has garnered 450 honors. Now for the first time, classroom versions of selected award-winning programs are available exclusively from New Dimension Media (NDM) and its CCC! (Core Curriculum Content) video on demand digital network. Each program is correlated to state & national standards and textbook curriculum concepts, and educationally enhanced with teacher’s guides and teaching segments. These programs will enthrall students with their stunning visuals, dramatic narrations, and engrossing true stories, as well as please educators with their strong instructional and content designs.

Death Valley : Desert Biome Survival

Death Valley is the largest National Park and the most extreme desert biome in the lower 48 states. Its hot, dry landscape and climate force plants and animals into extreme adaptations for survival. Some animals such as kangaroo rats recycle their own moisture, while the jackrabbit has developed huge ears that wick away heat.

Raptors : Adaptations for Predation

Two Orders of birds of prey, the falcon group and the owl group, are classified informally as raptors. Together, they display such spectacular and broad ranges of flight skills, along with other adaptations for hunting, which aeronautical engineers have not yet equaled with their designs.
