In partnership with the Utah Film Center, KUED presents a free screening of I Am Another You. Eating garbage, dodging police, and hitching rides with strangers, award-winning Chinese filmmaker Nanfu Wang shares the streets with a young drifter named Dylan who left his comfortable home and loving family in Utah for a life of intentional homelessness. Fascinated by his choice and rejection of society's rules, Nanfu follows Dylan with her camera on a journey that takes her across American and explores the meaning of freedom - and its limits.

A Home of Their Own follows the stories of three families living at the Road Home family shelter in Midvale Utah: a single working mother with four children; a single dad with a special needs child; and a mother determined to break the course of her drug addiction. Each family hoping for a safe and a lasting home of their own. By focusing on the experiences of these families, this 30-minute documentary shows how they navigate the homeless system in Utah, how they came to it, and where they are going.
A discussion with Kathleen French (mother featured in film), Michelle Flynn (The Road Home), and Tara Rollins (Utah Housing Coalition) will follow the film.
