Deepak Chopra, M.D., acknowledged as a leading authority in the field of mind-body medicine, returns to PBS with THE HAPPINESS PRESCRIPTION, a motivational program that offers Chopra's insights for living a more meaningful and joyous life. The result is a prescription that only Deepak Chopra can write. Combining ancient wisdom with modern-day research on how happiness relates to health and well-being, the program explores the true definition of happiness and how we can realistically attain and maintain it, regardless of religious or spiritual leaning. THE HAPPINESS PRESCRIPTION WITH DEEPAK CHOPRA airs on KUED-Channel 7 Thursday, March 6, at 8:30 p.m.
"I'm pleased to be back on public television and share my prescription for living life mindfully, joyfully and with effortless spontaneity; PBS is the only place for entertainment, education and enlightenment," states Chopra.
In THE HAPPINESS PRESCRIPTION, the studio audience embarks on an intimate and inspirational journey, beginning with the Buddha's Four Noble Truths and Eight-Fold Path to Enlightenment and ending with Chopra's Ten Keys to Happiness. "Understanding Buddha's teachings and relating them to a contemporary understanding of consciousness helps us to see and deal with the hidden dimensions of our lives," Chopra reveals. Chopra believes by transforming our consciousness, like the Buddha, and embracing altruism and compassion, we can find a way out of personal and planetary suffering.
