GoGREENER, airing Saturday, March 6 at 9:00 a.m. on KUED-Channel 7, is an upbeat, motivational special that provides simple, practical ways to become a more mindful consumer and save money.
The program dispels the myths that "going greener" is taxing or difficult, or requires a huge investment or major lifestyle change. Aimed at homeowners, as well as apartment dwellers, GoGREENER identifies small changes in everyday activities - the "low-hanging fruit" -that can result in greater efficiency and significant savings while strengthening the local economy and reducing dependence on imported energy and products.
GoGREENER looks at no- and low-cost solutions so that individuals and families can apply more mindful consumption. Special emphasis is placed on simple solutions. The overarching focus is dual-purpose: lowering consumption and minimizing impact on the Earth while saving money on what you consume.
The program, recorded before a studio audience, incorporates field-produced segments that feature dynamic innovators and entertaining man-on-the-street comments that bring the topics to life. GoGREENER is hosted by Susan Chang, an expert in environmental sciences from Cornell University's Cooperative Extension, and Morry Alter, a 20-time Emmy Award-winning journalist and anchor.
