In conjunction with the national broadcast of Ken Burns’ THE WAR, KUED will produce an 18-minute special that will air October 2 after episode seven. The special will celebrate the Utah stories that KUED has told over the past two years in the landmark four-part series, Utah’s World War II Stories, including segments from each of the four episodes, “The Struggle,” “Europe,” “The Pacific” and “The Homefront.” Not only will the special highlight the stories of Utah’s veterans, it will also honor those who have passed since sharing their stories with us. “We are proud of the work we have done to preserve the stories of Utah’s veterans,” says Station Manager Larry Smith. “Our producer Liz Searles is presently working on a fifth installation, “The Untold Stories,” that will include more of the many interviews she collected, as well as new interviews with veterans statewide.”
