What: More than 1,000 kids and parents have RSVP’d for KUED Kids LEAP Into Science Family Night at Hillsdale Elementary School. Activities include hands-‐on science activities, a free book for every child, and the Cleone Peterson Eccles Mobile Lab that features iPads and Kindles loaded with PBS Kids educational games and apps. Free dinner included.

Background: Family Nights are part of KUED’s Ready to Learn initiative that provides programs, activities, and resources for Utah communities to increase parent and educator involvement in children’s literacy development. Ready To Learn uses award-‐winning PBS Kids programs as a springboard to bolster children’s literacy and STEM education. The program also distributes free books to children and communities in need.
