Live From Lincoln Center brings Joshua Bell’s Seasons of Cuba to the festival lineup, in which the world-famous, Grammy Award–winning violinist Joshua Bell performs with the Chamber Orchestra of Havana. Bell will perform a range of selections from Vivaldi classics, Piazzolla tangos, and more, building a bridge between Cubans eager to engage with American artists in a new landscape of cultural diplomacy.

Broadway star Laura Osnes joins the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square for their annual Christmas concert, filmed live at the Salt Lake Conference Center in December 2015 in partnership with KUED. Taking the stage with Osnes is acclaimed British screen and voice actor Martin Jarvis. Under the direction of Mack Wilberg, music director of the Choir, and Ryan Murphy, associate music director, these powerhouse talents will ring in the holiday spirit for audiences young and old.

Nancy Kelsey was just eighteen years old with a baby in her arms when she voiced that simple sentiment to stay by her husband’s side in 1841 on a journey to a new life in California. Without a map or compass to guide them, the small Bartleson-Bidwell wagon train would become the first emigrant company to cross Utah, opening a new era in the American West.

On a blistering summer’s day in 1847, Brigham Young and a handful of followers walked around the unknown landscape of what they hoped would be a new homeland in the American West. Conflict and hardship were behind them, distanced by an overland trek from which they were still recovering.

Unknown conflict and hardship would lie ahead.

But on that July day, Young walked confidently to a spot a short distance from the camp of his fellow members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and said simply, “Here.”

Live from Lincoln Center presents the internationally acclaimed pianist Lang Lang and his love letter to New York, the city he considers his adoptive home, set to the music that helped make this city so famous. Embracing a wide range of styles and voices to capture New York’s magic, the program features music from Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, and Danny Elfman to Lou Reed, Alicia Keys, and Don Henley, including a rare performance of the original 1924 jazz band arrangement of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

A new adaptation of the classic Lucy Maud Montgomery story of a young girl’s life on Prince Edward Island, comes to KUED Thanksgiving night at 8:00 p.m. Following  L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gablesat 9:30 p.m. is  Pollyanna, the 2015 film version of the 1913 best-selling novel by Eleanor H. Porter.

Two new documentaries about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Pearl Harbor – USS Oklahoma: The Final Story and Pearl Harbor – Into the Arizona will air on KUED Wednesday, November 23, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The special broadcast will air in advance of the 75th anniversary of the December 7 attack.
