Addie Rerecich was a happy 11-year-old girl who loved sports and talked a mile a minute. But when a mysterious pain in her hip landed her in the hospital in 2011, she began a downward spiral into the nightmare of a new kind of antibiotic-resistant infection that is confounding doctors across the world. 

Addie’s precipitous decline might sound unusual, but as FRONTLINE reports in Hunting the Nightmare Bacteria, premiering Tuesday, the world is entering a post-antibiotic era.  The investigation airs Tuesday, May 6 at 9:00 p.m. on KUED.

Disorganized, distracted, and incredibly accident prone, Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman (played by Kris Marshall) often struggles to avoid putting his foot in it.

KUED is hosting an exclusive preview event to kick off the highly-anticipated new animated PBS Kids series, Space Racers, that follows young spaceship cadets as they soar through the Solar System, learning about the power of scientific investigation and observation, the wonders of space exploration, and the importance of working together as a team. The preview screening event is scheduled for Saturday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m. at the Clark Planetarium, 100 South 400 West in Salt Lake City.

The Address, a new film from award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns, will air April 15 on KUED at 8:00 pm. The film tells the story of a tiny school in Putney, Vermon, the Greenwood School, where each year students are encouraged to memorize, practices, and recite the Gettysburg Address. In its exploration of the Greenwood School, the film also unlocks the history, context, and importance of President Lincoln’s most powerful address.
