PBS premieres a series of six new one-hour MAKERS documentaries. The series premieres Tuesday, September 30  at 8:00 p.m. and continues through November 4 with the stories of women in six spheres of influence—comedy, Hollywood, space, business, politics, and war.

The films, directed and produced by the country’s leading independent filmmakers, build on the multi-platform initiative developed by AOL that aims to be the largest collection of women’s stories ever assembled and includes a growing collection of over 250 original interviews online at MAKERS.com.

KUED will rebroadcast a Utah Conversations with Ted Capener taped in 2012 with Chase Peterson, the former University of Utah president who passed away Sunday, September 14 at the age of 84. Capener’s last interview with Petersen airs Sunday, September 28 at 5:30 p.m. on KUED.

A former University of Utah Vice President, Capener sits down with lifelong friend, Chase Peterson, for a wide-ranging conversation exploring the issues — big and small — that have shaped the University over the previous 30 years.

The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, a new seven-part, 14-hour documentary by Ken Burns, will air for seven consecutive nights beginning Sunday, September 14,  at 7:00 p.m. on KUED. The film weaves the stories of Theodore, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, three members of one of the most prominent and influential families in American politics. The series marks the first time their individual stories have been woven into a single narrative.
