KUED is rolling out its 23rd annual Reading Marathon with a party at Discovery Gateway Children's Museum on Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Community organizations will join KUED to host Halloween activities for the whole family.  Kids can wear a costume, pick up a free book, get their Reading Marathon reading log, and meet PBS Kids characters.

Billy Elliot the Musical Live, the long-running hit both on Broadway and in London’s West End (where it is still playing), comes to Great Performances Friday, October 23 at 8:00 p.m. on KUED. The acclaimed musical airs as part of the PBS Arts Fall Festival.

Salt Lake City -- KUED productions have received five Rocky Mountain Emmy  Awards. 

The Utah Bucket List 2 was honored as the best magazine program special.   It was produced and edited by Nancy Green and hosted by Brett Prettyman. Gary Turnier was director of photography. The program’s segment on Colorado River running with Splore was named as the best human interest segment.

The groundbreaking musical, Show Boat, redefined entertainment and changed the face of American theater. Spanning the years from 1880 to 1927, Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II’s lyrical masterpiece concerns the lives, loves, and heartbreaks of three generations of show folk on the Mississippi River, in Chicago, and on Broadway.

Show Boat airs Friday, October 16th at 8:00 p.m. on KUED as part of the PBS Arts Fall Festival.
