About the Filmmakers

Even Handed
Samantha Highsmith & Gabriella Huggins

Samantha Highsmith is a senior at Ogden High School in Ogden, Utah. She loves a number of things: music, the outdoors, and of course, film - which she plans to study next fall when she ventures off to college.

Gabriella Huggins is a junior at West High School who keeps herself busy with dance, school, volunteering, and reading among other things. "Even Handed" is her first film.

Adriana Martinez & Candida Duran

Adriana Martinez is a senior at Cottonwood High School. This is the third film she has made at Spy Hop. She plans on attending UVU and majoring in Digital Film and Video Production.

Candida Duran is an 18-year-old freshman at the University of Utah majoring in Film Studies. She plans on making children's films as well as documentaries.

My Muslim Eyes
Loren Ruiz & Laela Omar

Loren Ruiz has been involved in film classes at Spy Hop Productions for over three years. She plans on moving to California next year to attend film school.

Laela Omar made her first film last year in the Reel Stories documentary workshop at Spy Hop Productions. She is a junior at Cottonwood High School.

Erin Cole made her first film "Just Say Know" with Reel Stories at Spy Hop Productions. She is a senior at Judge Memorial.

Mallory McDaniel is 19 years old and a graduate of the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts. This is her third film project at Spy Hop.
