2012 Golden Apple Honoree: Cheryl Hughes

Cheryl has earned local, national and international recognition for her work at Alta High School. Five educators write the worldwide Advance Placement Art History Exam.  Four are professors.  The fifth is Cheryl Hughes. She knows and loves art history and teaches it with passion and enthusiasm.  She inspires her students to strive for academic excellence, to think bigger and grander thoughts, and to believe in themselves.  Several of her former students now teach AP Art History in other high schools.  They all credit Cheryl’s influence.
