2012 Golden Apple Honoree: Jamileh Jameson

For over a decade, Jamileh has made time to volunteer on behalf of students in the Granite School District.   She has filled PTA positions at Oakridge Elementary, Wasatch Jr. High and Skyline High School in Salt Lake City.  Her passion for the arts led her to work with another parent to create a visual arts program to complement Oakridge Elementary’s music program.  The culmination of the project was a student art gallery. When a six-alarm fire tore through Wasatch Jr. High, Jamileh, then PTA president, organized a fundraiser to help teachers replace years of lost teaching materials.
