Dr. Greg J. Miller
My medical practice provides home-based supportive and palliative care.
I see patients and families in their home environments and specialize
in providing symptom management. Symptoms can be physical, such as pain,
fatigue, nausea, and shortness or breath, or they can develop as a result
of nonphysical conditions such as anxiety, depression and fear.
Most of my patients have a life-limiting disease, and many are receiving
care from hospice. Providing scientific-based symptom management in conjunction
with a team of end-of-life health care specialists is very rewarding.
End-of-life care has been neglected in this country, and therefore, patients
and families are in need of information, support and quality care. Providing
this care is challenging and being allowed to participate in an individual's
last stages of life is a wonderful privilege.
I believe this type of medicine represents why I became a physician.
I can provide symptom relief, be allowed to care, spend time time with
my patient and their family, and know that I have truly improved someone's
quality of life.
