How do you invest wisely and save money for the future in today's economic environment while avoiding common pitfalls and scams?
Earlier this month, KUED aired a program called Tricks of the Trade: Outsmarting investment Fraud that revealed the most common persuasion tactics of con artists and the underlying psychologies of investment scams. It also offered effective prevention strategies to help keep savings safe and secure. Like most of the programs we air, Tricks of the Trade was an important public service for our viewers, because in Utah we are particularly vulnerable to affinity fraud and many other investment scams.
As an outgrowth of that program, we want to continue the dialogue in our community. That's why we partnered with the Utah Division of Securities, AARP-Utah, KUER, the Utah Council on Financial and Economic Education and FINRA to present this day-long conference, where our goal is to provide advice on ways to save, invest and avoid investment scams in Utah. Today's breakout sessions include concrete tips and tools from experts in our community that will both clue you in to avoiding nefarious financial practices and improve your personal financial health.
