Samoa's
Finest Dancers
There
are many professional performing groups from all the Polynesian Islands
in Salt Lake County. Group leaders bring the repertoire from their homeland,
many performers were involved with the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii,
and costumes are made by talented seamstresses. These components blend
to give Utah some of the finest Polynesian performing groups outside the
Islands. Pictured here is Samoa's Finest, who shared traditional and popular
dances at the Living Traditions Festival in 1999.
