Utah's
National Parks are home to some of the most stunning
landscapes in America. John Howe's latest film for KUED is
a symphony of sight and sound that features the spectacular
landscapes of Canyonlands,
Arches,
Bryce
Canyon, Capitol
Reef and Zion
National Parks, set to music from some of the world's
greatest composers.
Premiering
on KUED-Channel 7 Sunday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m., Utah:
The National Parks is a lyrical, poetic film with minimal
narration and a dramatic score that includes selections from
Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Nocturn Op. 10 for Cello and Orchestra;
Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria, RV589, Quoniam tu solus Sanctus;
Frederic Chopin's Waltz in C Sharp Minor, Op. 64 #2; Manuel
de Falla's Danse Espagnole for Violin and Orchestra; Tomaso
Albinoni's Concerto for Oboe, Op. 9 #2, Adagio; Antonio Vivaldi's
Concerto for 2 Oboes Op. 42, Largo; Gioachino Rossini's Sonata
for Strings #2, Andantino; Tchaikovsky's Souvenir de Hapsal,
Op. 2, Chants Paroles; Rossini's Sonata for Strings #4, Andantino;
Chopin's Waltz in F Minor, Op. 70 #2; Tchaikovsky's Children's
Album, Op. 39; Vincenzo Bellini's selection from Fantasy on
Themes from the opera "Norma;" and Pablo de Sarasate's
selection from Gypsy Songs for Violin and Orchestra.
