COMING TO UTAH SCHOOLS IN FALL 2009: KUED’s acclaimed five-part documentary series on Utah’s five tribes and a comprehensive curriculum guide designed by the American West Center will be distributed to all Utah schools this Fall. The educational package, funded by the State of Utah through the Department of Community and Culture, includes complete lesson plans for 4th and 7th grades and high school, tied to state standards. The curriculum project will dramatically change the way American Indian culture and history is taught and understood in Utah schools.
