Karen Zempolich is a Gynecologic Oncology surgeon practicing at St. Mark’s Hospital. Her practice offers a full range of Women's Health Care Services including pelvic examinations, pap smears, colposcopy, reproductive genital tract biopsies and laboratory testing. Dr. Zempolich received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Duke University, Durham, N.C. After completing a residency at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics in Salt Lake City in 1997, she received subspecialty training in gynecologic oncology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Dr. Zempolich has performed extensive research on the genetic and molecular changes that allow pre-cancerous cervical and vulvar diseases to turn into cancer. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, in the Department of Oncology & Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology..
