On October 4, 1951, Jack and Harry Forsey opened their doors for business. The store was a small specialty shop dealing in maple and provincial furniture. The ever-growing Salt Lake Valley soon came to know Forsey's for its great selection of quality merchandise at very reasonable prices. With its unerring commitment to service and quality products, its business grew rapidly.
The dream of George and Dolores Doré Eccles in establishing their Foundation was to improve the quality of life enjoyed by the people of Utah. That purpose remains unchanged today.
