When she was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer, mountain climber Sean Patrick approached her illness with the same single-minded focus that she used in climbing. She gathered a community, became a catalyst for change and, even after her death, inspires the quest for cancer awareness and research.
In 1994, Twinkle Chisholm, produced a one-hour documentary for KUED titled Faces of Breast Cancer. The program profiled five women with breast cancer through various stages of their disease, treatment, and recovery. Seventeen years later, KUED will revisit these women and their stories in a half hour program.
In July 2011, the nation will close the chapter of space exploration tied with the Space Shuttle program. While the entire nation has felt pride in its achievements and loss in its tragedies, few states have had the close attachment to the program that Utah has had.
