James Davie is director of KUED’s newly formed Interactive Media Department, supervising the station’s web, social media, and online video efforts, as well as broadcast programming. He brings an audience- and content-focused approach to this new role, having previously served as the station’s Director of Programming.
He has been with KUED since 1999, where he began as a traffic associate, fresh from graduating from the University of Utah with a degree in Mass Communication. He then worked his way up to Program Manager, and later Director of Programming. In 2010, he was elected to the Board of the Public Television Programmers' Association, an organization providing mentoring, networking and other opportunities to programmers throughout the PBS system, and later served as President of that organization. He has also served on the PBS Programming Advisory Council, and Program Council of the National Educational Television Association.
