KUED Donates Learning Labs to Organizations Helping Families

Press Release

Airdate:
Wednesday, June 13, 2018

KUED Kids recently donated four Mobile Education Labs to The Road Home Midvale shelter, Family Promise – Salt Lake, Children’s Service Society, and the YWCA. These organizations provide services to families when they are most in need, and the PBS Kids resources provide children a safe, educational, and fun environment to explore during their difficult times and transitions.

Each Mobile Education Lab contains ten PBS Kids Playtime Pads. Developed with educators, PBS Kids Playtime Pads have over 25 fun and educational games installed. Each PBS Kids game is a part of an ongoing commitment to help kids build the skills they need to succeed in school and in life. The tablets also feature 120 video clips, songs, and music videos featuring PBS Kids characters like Daniel Tiger, the Kratt brothers, Buddy the Dinosaur, and more!

KUED Kids has brought Mobile Education Labs to children throughout Utah for the last five years through a generous donation from The Nancy Eccles and Homer M. Hayward Family Foundation in honor of the legacy of Cleone Peterson Eccles.
